Coherence Neuro raises $45m Series A for cancer neurotechnology
Founders Fund and the OpenAI Startup Fund co-led the round, supporting clinical development of investigational implants.
Coherence Neuro announced a $45 million Series A on October 21, 2026, co-led by Founders Fund and the OpenAI Startup Fund. Lux Capital, 8VC and other new and returning investors also participated.
The company is developing implantable systems that record electrical activity around tumors and deliver stimulation. Its initial focus is glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer. The intended approach combines continuous monitoring with treatment that could adapt to changes in disease.
The funding will support a first long-term human trial in glioblastoma, an application for FDA Breakthrough Device designation and further preclinical work in pancreatic cancer. The technology is investigational; the company’s reported early biomarker work in mice has yet to establish clinical benefit in humans.
