Opto Biosystems announces £1.85m pre-seed led by Blackbird
The company, now known as Coherence Neuro, disclosed its December 2022 financing in March 2023.
Opto Biosystems publicly announced £1.85 million in pre-seed funding on March 7, 2023. The financing closed in December 2022 and was led by Blackbird Ventures, with participation from Possible Ventures, Wayve co-founder Amar Shah and other investors.
The team planned to expand and advance minimally invasive implantable neurotechnology toward clinical use, aiming to give clinicians tools for hard-to-treat diseases. The business subsequently became Coherence Neuro, developing systems that combine electrical sensing and stimulation.
