Celaid Therapeutics secures AMED Stage 3 grant support for CLD-001
The grant decision supports development of Celaid’s cord-blood-derived cell therapy and preparation for US clinical trials.
Celaid Therapeutics has received a Stage 3 grant decision under the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development’s Drug Discovery Venture Ecosystem Strengthening Program after passing its second stage-gate review. The company announced the decision on October 5; the individual grant allocation was not disclosed.
The support advances CLD-001, a cell therapy that uses technology to expand blood-forming stem cells outside the body. Celaid is developing the candidate from frozen cord blood for severe paediatric blood and immune disorders, aiming to increase the supply of cells available for transplantation.
Celaid has completed a pre-IND meeting with the US Food and Drug Administration and transferred its manufacturing process to a US development and manufacturing partner. Work now focuses on safety and manufacturing preparations for US clinical development.
