Care Reality receives Mindset funding for safety-planning XR training

Care Reality leads SAFXR, an immersive training project for practitioners supporting people at risk of suicide.

Care Reality was named as a funded lead in Innovate UK's Mindset announcement on 11 September 2025. Its SAFXR project develops AI-supported virtual role-play for practitioners to rehearse safety planning and difficult conversations in suicide prevention.

The research brings together Care Reality, the Universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow, and NHS Education for Scotland. It extends the company's work in virtual-reality learning for health and social care professionals.

UKRI announced more than £3.6 million across 17 projects. Care Reality's individual grant amount was not disclosed.
