Allogenetics raises €3.8M Pre-Series A for organ-transplant gene therapy
Its lead program is developing an ex vivo approach for lung transplantation.
Modifying the graft before transplantation
Allogenetics’ therapy treats the donor organ before it is transplanted, aiming to lower expression of cell-surface antigens that can trigger graft rejection. By modifying the graft rather than suppressing immunity throughout the recipient’s body, the approach is designed to preserve the patient’s ability to respond to infections elsewhere.
The lead program, ALG-115, is being prepared for IND-enabling studies in lung transplantation. Kidney and heart programs remain preclinical, with liver work at an earlier discovery stage; none of the candidates is an approved treatment.
