Allogenetics is developing a one-time ex vivo gene therapy that modifies donor organs before transplantation, aiming to reduce immune rejection without suppressing the recipient’s immune system. Its lead ALG-115 program is advancing through preclinical and IND-enabling work for lung transplantation.
Allogenetics' approach treats the donor organ rather than exposing the recipient to lifelong systemic immunosuppression. Its gene therapy is intended to reduce expression of HLA/MHC antigens that can trigger rejection, while preserving the recipient's ability to mount immune responses elsewhere.
The lead program ALG-115 is being prepared for IND-enabling studies, beginning with lung grafts. The company's pipeline also lists kidney and heart programs at preclinical stages and liver work in discovery. These are experimental therapies under development, not approved transplant treatments.
