Aerial Icon secures Mindset backing for seasonal affective disorder project

Aerial Icon leads a Mindset-funded project developing AI-assisted virtual reality for seasonal affective disorder.

Aerial Icon was named as a funded project lead in Innovate UK's Mindset announcement on 11 September 2025. Its A3S-XRDT project develops AI-assisted virtual reality for seasonal affective disorder.

The company works with Anglia Ruskin University and Reneural Technologies on the research. Aerial Icon builds tools for creating and adapting immersive environments, including its Ubidio platform and nature-based UbiFloat experiences.

The award forms part of more than £3.6 million announced for 17 business-led projects. UKRI did not publish Aerial Icon's individual grant amount.
