Skaaltec develops SmartVNS, a wearable system designed to pair vagus nerve stimulation with movement during stroke rehabilitation. Motion analysis and stimulation-control algorithms coordinate the system, with a standalone design intended to support use beyond supervised clinic sessions.
The Swiss company is developing therapist tools for monitoring and adjusting rehabilitation remotely. It has worked with engineering partner Helbling and gathered user feedback through a feasibility study at cereneo. SmartVNS remains an investigational device undergoing development and validation.
