Quadlytics

Japan · Healthtech

Quadlytics develops wearable heart-monitoring and software technology intended to warn people before epileptic seizures.

Product

Quadlytics aims to help people with epilepsy anticipate seizures and reduce the risk of injury. Its developing system uses a wearable electrocardiograph to monitor changes in the autonomic nervous system and machine-learning software to identify unusual patterns in heart-rate variability.

The Kyoto company grew out of research begun in 2012 and was founded in 2018 as a university spinout. It is building clinical and regulatory capabilities in Japan and Australia, including work with Monash University and Alfred Hospital.

Its seizure-warning product remains in development and has not received approval under Japan’s medical-device law. The company is targeting an Australian launch in 2028 and is preparing for further international expansion.
