Active Intelligence Technologies develops implantable brain-computer interfaces to help patients regain communication, movement and sensory function.
Restoring interaction through neural signals
The Shanghai company combines flexible implanted electrodes, dedicated chips and decoding algorithms in one system. Its motor and language programme targets impairments associated with stroke, spinal-cord injury and ALS, translating neural activity into interaction with external devices.
Three clinical development programmes
Its motor system uses 1,024 channels and has completed type testing. Separate visual and emotional programmes investigate cortical stimulation for acquired blindness and closed-loop neuromodulation for treatment-resistant depression. These programmes are being developed for clinical translation.
Incubated by Lingang Laboratory, the company brings neural-interface hardware, signal processing and system integration into the same engineering platform.
