OptQC builds optical quantum-computing hardware for research institutions and technology companies.
OptQC’s systems use optical pulses and quantum teleportation to process quantum information. Its architecture relies on time-domain multiplexing, where successive pulses form a scalable computing resource, and aims to handle both analog and digital information without the cryogenic cooling required by some competing approaches.
The company has delivered systems to research institutions and supplied hardware modules to private-sector customers. In July 2026, its first optical quantum-computer machine, MoQuren, began operating at Japan’s AIST research center, giving developers and researchers access to a deployed system while the company continues toward broader commercialization.
