Oxford spin-out developing targeted medicines for myeloproliferative neoplasms, a group of blood cancers.
Product
Alethio Therapeutics develops targeted treatments for myeloproliferative neoplasms, a group of blood cancers involving abnormal blood cell production. The company was founded as a University of Oxford spin-out by researchers Adam Mead and Beth Psaila.
Its lead programme, ATX-011, is a monoclonal antibody targeting G6B, a protein found on platelets and megakaryocytes and abnormally expressed on disease-initiating cells. Alethio is advancing the programme through preclinical development toward studies in essential thrombocythaemia, while building further programmes using its ARTEMIS discovery platform.
