Yngvi Bio secures €1.3m convertible loan to advance protein-based crop protection
The BioInnovation Institute funding will move the Danish startup’s targeted biological pest-control work toward field testing.
Protein-based protection aimed at specific pests
Yngvi Bio is developing protein-based crop-protection products designed to target agricultural pests while reducing reliance on conventional chemical pesticides. The University of Copenhagen spin-out is working on protein discovery and formulations that can hold up under storage and field conditions, practical requirements before farmers can use a biological product in ordinary crop-protection operations.
BioInnovation Institute committed an additional €1.3 million through its Venture House programme as Yngvi moves from Venture Lab toward field testing and commercial application. The company says the development path includes regulatory work and validation in agricultural environments; its crop-protection technology remains in development rather than on the market.
