A Copenhagen crop-protection biotech developing protein-based pest-control products designed to target specific agricultural pests while reducing harm to beneficial insects and reliance on conventional pesticides.
Yngvi Bio is developing biological crop-protection products for farmers and crop producers. The company uses AI-guided protein design and insect biology to create pest-specific solutions, aiming to control harmful species while preserving beneficial insects and avoiding persistent chemical residues. It is engineering formulations for stability under agricultural storage and field conditions, a practical requirement for use in conventional spraying and farm operations.
The technology builds on research from the University of Copenhagen and is being developed for crop and stored-product protection. Yngvi's current work focuses on protein discovery, stability engineering and validation; the company says each candidate must be tested in real agricultural environments before it reaches farmers. Its September 2026 BII Venture House selection and additional capital are intended to move the technology closer to field trials, so the offering remains in product development rather than commercial deployment.
