XRlabs raises $8.4m seed for surgical intelligence software
Playground Global led the financing, joined by Eka Ventures, as former Medtronic CEO Omar Ishrak became board chair.
Announced on 19 October 2026, the round will fund engineering and clinical hiring, regulatory development in the UK, Europe and US, and further studies with clinical partners.
XRlabs says its technology has been used in more than 100 surgical cases across three continents. Its operating-room platform combines live video, navigation signals and patient imaging, with intraoperative capabilities still under development and clinical evaluation. A separate UK AI Research Resource compute allocation supports its AI work.
