Unit1 Studio secures £20 million in equity and production financing for avatar concerts
The London studio combines licensed artist likenesses and recordings with live production, and says a completed show has already moved intact between venues.
A concert is a production, not just an avatar
Unit1 Studio works with artists and rights holders to license names, likenesses, master recordings and publishing, then assembles the creative, music and technology work needed to stage an avatar concert. Its model spans show development and live operations, bringing digital performers into physical venues.
That production approach creates a practical test for the format: whether a show can be mounted as a repeatable live experience. The company says it transferred a completed avatar concert intact from one venue to another, evidence that the production can travel rather than being rebuilt as a one-off digital asset.
Financing production alongside the studio
The announced package combines company equity with financing for shows in development, although the two portions were not disclosed separately. Pairing production capital with studio funding connects the investment to both sides of the business: building the operating capacity to make shows and advancing specific productions toward audiences.
