Today AI’s founding team secures angel backing from IDG Capital and StepFun

The team behind the personal AI assistant attracted early investment after establishing its Shanghai company.

The founding team behind Today AI disclosed angel backing from IDG Capital and StepFun on 6 March 2026, shortly after establishing Cijian Wuxian in Shanghai. StepFun also provided underlying model support.

Founder Junyuan Qi previously created Teambition and worked on ByteDance’s Doubao desktop product. His new company has developed Today AI into a personal assistant that combines memory, information organisation and proactive help with everyday tasks.
