Finding a foothold for drug design
A small-molecule drug needs a place to bind to its target protein. For many disease-related proteins, that pocket is difficult to identify. Think Bioscience uses high-throughput functional surveys to uncover binding sites, then uses those sites to develop molecules with the intended biochemical activity.
Advancing its own therapeutic programs
The Series A will advance the company’s internal pipeline. Its lead program targets mutants associated with Noonan syndrome, a genetic condition. The discovery approach has also been applied to several protein families, including phosphatases and GTPases, giving the company additional targets for drug development.
