Stellar Alpina secures CHF150k from Venture Kick for rocket-engine testing
The Swiss startup will expand hot-fire testing and advance a rotating-detonation engine toward its first flight system.
A compact engine architecture for spacecraft
Stellar Alpina is developing a rotating detonation rocket engine for in-space propulsion. A detonation wave moving around the combustor is intended to produce thrust with fewer mechanical components and a smaller system volume than conventional engine designs, a potential advantage for spacecraft with tight mass and space limits.
Venture Kick invested CHF150,000 to expand testing infrastructure, conduct further hot-fire campaigns and advance the first flight engine. Stellar Alpina has completed a commercial hot-fire test, an early hardware milestone as it continues propulsion development rather than an operational flight system.
