Soufflé Therapeutics raises $135m Series B for its first clinical programs

Juvia Group leads an expanded investor syndicate as the RNA medicines developer moves its lead candidates into human studies.

A broader syndicate for the clinical stage

The October 13 financing brings new institutional investors alongside Soufflé’s existing backers. TCG Crossover Management, BB Biotech, Fidelity Management & Research Company and Balyasny Asset Management join the round, together with a sovereign wealth fund whose name was not disclosed.

For the Boston biotech, the next test is translating its cell-targeted delivery approach into clinical evidence. Its lead programs address muscle disease and heart failure, giving the company several opportunities to evaluate the platform in patients. The financing announcement describes an early clinical development agenda; it does not report trial efficacy results.

Use of funds

Advance three lead programs into clinical studies

Develop the preclinical pipeline in additional cell types and tissues
