Rulen raises €1.8m for tax and accounting AI workflows
VC Partners led the Italian company’s first funding round as it expands beyond its LexSA research-assistant roots.
Rulen has raised €1.8 million in its first funding round, led by VC Partners. Growth Engine, AME Ventures, Zest through its Magic Mind vehicle, Alpha Venture and industry business angels also participated, according to the announcement published on 21 October 2026.
The company plans to expand product development and commercial operations, adding sales, marketing and product staff as well as tax specialists. The financing accompanies its change of name from LexSA to Rulen.
Co-founder and chief executive Simone Hong said difficulties recruiting junior professionals and the time spent on repetitive tasks helped shape the business. Rulen is extending its product from research assistance into workflows that connect data collection, checks and document preparation, with professionals overseeing the output.
