Remolonas announces new backing and opens crowdfunding campaign
The Spanish food-rescue platform plans technology, hiring and B2B expansion alongside a SEGO Venture campaign.
Remolonas has announced new financing backed by Clave Capital, EONIQ and private investors participating through SEGO Venture’s investment club. The Spanish company is also opening a crowdfunding campaign to complete the round, with participation starting at €2,000.
The capital will support its inventory and personalisation technology, marketing, hiring and expansion of business-to-business activity. Founder Carlos Pérez Mielgo wants to increase the amount of food the platform can recover and distribute.
Based in Valladolid, Remolonas works with growers, producers and brands to sell food that has lost its usual commercial outlet. Its subscriptions combine imperfect fruit and vegetables with other food products, using customer preferences and proprietary logistics to match inventory with recurring demand.
