Pulpos raises USD4 million Seed led by Andreessen Horowitz

The Mexican retail software startup planned to expand in its home market and add developers to build AI capabilities.

Pulpos raised USD4 million in Seed funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from H20 Capital Innovation, Latitud and Newtopia VC. LatamList reported the financing on April 4, 2024; co-founder Frank Martin discussed it in an iProUP interview published three days later.

The company planned to expand in Mexico, including a second office in Guadalajara, and hire software developers. Martin said product development would include AI capabilities to improve inventory and sales forecasts and make operational recommendations to merchants.

Founded in January 2023 by Martin, Franco Silvetti and Lucas Cortés, Pulpos combined inventory management, online and offline sales, invoicing and reporting in cloud software. The company reported 5,000 active users across Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara at the time of the financing.
