Prodrone announces JICN equity commitment for lower-emission aircraft
The drone developer will use the planned share allotment to advance aircraft technology and deployment aimed at reducing greenhouse-gas emissions.
Prodrone has resolved to issue new shares to Japan Green Investment Corporation for Carbon Neutrality (JICN), the company announced on August 30, 2026. The amount of the equity commitment was not disclosed.
How the funding will be used
The company plans to accelerate aircraft development and practical deployment in applications where unmanned aircraft can reduce greenhouse-gas emissions. It highlighted the Prodrone GT-M, a lightweight unmanned helicopter designed for extended flight.
Prodrone said the GT-M weighs 6.5 kilograms and can fly for one hour on one litre of fuel. It identified surveillance work currently carried out by manned helicopters as one potential application where a smaller aircraft could reduce fuel use and emissions.
Based in Nagoya, the company develops and produces aircraft for industrial and dual-use applications. The JICN-backed development programme sits alongside its work to build a regional drone ecosystem and expand aircraft production.
