Polyphron raises $20m seed to expand human tissue foundry
Quiet Capital led the round as the company adds liver tissue production to its experimental platform for testing drug hypotheses in human biology.
Growing tissue to test therapeutic ideas
Polyphron’s automated Tissue Foundry grows stem-cell-derived human micro-tissues and measures how they respond to experimental conditions. Its system combines controlled perturbations with AI-guided analysis to help researchers test therapeutic hypotheses against living tissue; the company plans to extend production from cardiac to liver models.
The measured responses also provide a physical basis for Polyphron’s Tissue World Model, which is intended to simulate how tissue reacts to genetic, chemical, biological and environmental changes. The company is developing the foundry and model as complementary tools for drug research.
