Physical Superintelligence raises $58m seed to build an AI physics lab
The research startup will develop virtual physicists that test hypotheses through simulations and physical experiments.
AI agents for experimental physics
Physical Superintelligence is building Emmy, an AI-native physics research platform. Human scientists direct research campaigns while virtual physicists use reasoning models and curated simulations to break problems into hypotheses, run tests in parallel and verify results.
Breakthrough Energy Ventures led the $58 million seed round. PSI plans to expand its operations and development efforts, beginning with infrastructure challenges such as energy, heat, materials and sensing. The company remains a research lab developing models and experimental methods, with its goal of making more physical hypotheses testable in parallel.
