NUNOS raises €570,000 pre-seed for nutrient-recovery fertilizer
The German agritech turns manure and biogas digestate into a more manageable fertilizer, with new pilots and crop trials ahead of commercial sales.
Recovering nutrients already on the farm
NUNOS processes cattle manure and biogas digestate into fertilizer that is easier to store and apply precisely. Instead of treating these waste streams only as a disposal problem, the system aims to return their nutrients to agricultural use in a more valuable form.
The company traces the technology to nutrient recovery for closed space habitats and is adapting it to farm feedstocks. It installed an initial pilot near Cologne in 2025, moving the work from a technical concept into an operating agricultural setting.
The next proof is across farms and crops
NUNOS plans additional farm pilots and crop trials before targeting first equipment sales in 2027. Those tests will show how the recovered fertilizer performs across crops and operating conditions, a key step between a successful pilot installation and a repeatable product for farmers and biogas operators.
