Producing the proteins researchers need
Drug-discovery teams need usable proteins to investigate how a potential treatment interacts with its target. Nuclera combines cell-free protein production with digital microfluidics to screen several production conditions, identify promising proteins and purify them for further experiments. Its equipment brings these steps into the researcher’s laboratory.
Adding antibody workflows
Elevage Medical Technologies and Jonathan Milner co-led the $12 million extension. The new capital will develop workflows for producing and purifying full-format antibodies and testing their binding. These experiments are also intended to generate consistent datasets for AI-assisted protein engineering. The extension brings Series C financing to $87 million, including the original 2024 round.
