Neurophos uses miniature metamaterial optical modulators to pack large numbers of processing elements onto a chip. The company is moving from a working proof of concept toward a complete system that customers can integrate into their computing infrastructure.

Preparing for customer deployments

The startup plans to expand its Austin headquarters and add a San Francisco engineering site. Gates Frontier leads the Series A, bringing total funding to $118 million. The company issued a corrected announcement updating additional investor names.
