MOT secures equity financing for manga creator management and education

DBJ Capital leads the investment alongside Shochiku Ventures Fund 1.

MOT announced new-share financing on October 2, led by DBJ Capital with participation from Shochiku Ventures Fund 1. The amount was not disclosed.

Connecting creators with industry partners

MOT combines management support for working artists with Kakikomi, its online manga school. The company says the school passed 1,200 free members within roughly six months of its April launch, with some students gaining publisher contacts and recognition in newcomer awards.

The new backers bring networks across business, local government and entertainment. MOT plans to explore collaborations in screen and stage adaptations while helping creators build careers beyond individual publishing assignments.
