Microbiotica closes £36m Series C first tranche for ulcerative colitis programme
British Business Bank leads the financing as MB310 prepares for a larger clinical study.
Testing the early clinical signal
The financing follows the COMPOSER-1 Phase 1b study, which the company says met its primary and secondary endpoints. The planned randomised, placebo-controlled Phase 2 trial will test whether those early findings hold in a larger study.
All existing Series B investors joined the first close. Microbiotica’s approach uses clinical microbiome data to select therapeutic bacteria, and it is also developing a separate programme for advanced melanoma.
