Selecting bacteria from clinical evidence
The company compares microbiome profiles with patient outcomes to identify bacterial strains associated with a favourable response. Its platform combines cultured bacteria, genome references and computational analysis.
Its lead candidate MB310 combines eight bacterial strains in an oral capsule for ulcerative colitis. Following a Phase1b study, the programme is preparing for Phase2 development. A separate programme, MB097, is being studied alongside pembrolizumab in advanced melanoma.
