MEEQ invests in Legmin to connect agricultural robots
The Japanese companies are exploring fleet monitoring and operating-data collection as Legmin expands its crop-spraying service.
Connectivity for a dispersed fleet
Legmin had already started testing MEEQ SIM connectivity in field cameras before the investment. A wider service area makes it harder to monitor equipment from a single base, creating a need for reliable links from remote fields.
The proposed collaboration would collect robot movement and spraying logs alongside battery, motor and fault data. The companies are also considering monitoring for Legmin’s broccoli-cutting equipment and central management of communication lines.
The share issuance was completed on September 30. The wider technical programme remains subject to further agreement between the companies; its schedule and implementation details have yet to be settled.
