LEBO ROBOTICS completes Series B first close for autonomous blade maintenance
The wind-energy robotics company is advancing systems that inspect and repair turbine blades at operating wind farms.
Automation for work on turbine blades
LEBO ROBOTICS says its blade-maintenance service is already working at Japanese wind farms, where its robot adheres to turbine blades to carry out cleaning, sanding and coating work. The company is now combining sensing, 3D data, AI and control technology so a robot can identify blade conditions and select repair tasks with less manual operation; that autonomous workflow is still in development.
