Robotic inspection and repair systems that help wind-farm operators maintain turbine blades more safely and efficiently.
LEBO ROBOTICS develops inspection and maintenance technology for wind-turbine blades. Its robot adheres to a blade and carries out work such as sanding, cleaning and applying protective coatings, reducing dependence on technicians performing repairs at height. The company says its service is already operating at Japanese wind farms.
The company is developing a more autonomous workflow that combines blade sensing and 3D data with AI and control software. That work builds on its inspection record and field deployments, with the aim of letting a robot assess blade condition and select repair actions; those autonomous capabilities remain in development.
