Helogen raises $7.1M seed for automated in-orbit manufacturing
Remote bioreactors and crystallization chambers give research teams a manufacturing environment unavailable on Earth.
A laboratory operating in orbit
Helogen operates automated bioreactors and crystallization chambers in satellite modules, where remote systems control cell cultivation and material synthesis. Its platform is designed to produce advanced biomaterials for medical implants by using microgravity for processes that are difficult to replicate in terrestrial laboratories.
Biopharma companies and academic research teams can use the orbital facilities for biological research and manufacturing. Helogen says it has already delivered biomaterial products as it builds out its factory infrastructure.
