GreenIron’s RE-MET project selected for EU grant preparation
The project would recover steelmaking residues using hydrogen reduction in Norrsundet.
Grant agreement preparation
The European Commission selected GreenIron’s RE-MET project for grant-agreement preparation on October 19. The allocation remains undisclosed and the contract is pending.
RE-MET concerns a Norrsundet installation designed to recover about 53,000 tonnes of metal annually from steelmaking residues. GreenIron uses hydrogen to remove oxygen from metal oxides, allowing material such as mill scale to return to steel production. Its modular furnace approach supports processing close to industrial sites.
