General Compute secures $100 million initial funding from Upper90

The debt facility can scale to $400 million as demand grows for the company’s inference cloud.

Hardware funding that grows with demand

General Compute announced a debt facility of up to $400 million from Upper90 on July 17, 2026. The financing begins at $100 million and scales with customer demand.

The initial funding supports the purchase and deployment of specialised AI inference hardware. Upper90 is also an equity investor in the company.

Using existing data centres

General Compute deploys SambaNova inference chips in air-cooled infrastructure that can fit into existing colocation facilities. Its model combines hardware financing with the operation of the cloud capacity sold to customers.

The $400 million figure is the facility ceiling. The company separately describes $100 million as funded upfront, with the remaining balance available for drawdown.
