EnginZyme closes SEK 75 million equity round for commercial biomanufacturing
Its cell-free enzyme platform is moving from process development toward industrial production partnerships.
Enzymes in industrial production
EnginZyme’s platform immobilizes enzymes on a solid support so they can catalyze multi-step reactions without living cells. The technology is designed for fixed-bed reactors and familiar industrial equipment, allowing manufacturers to explore biological production processes without rebuilding an entire plant around cell-based fermentation.
The new shareholders include Lotus One Investment and Valquest Partners Europe; Sofinnova Partners, Industrifonden, Navigare Ventures and Almi Invest GreenTech also participated. The company described the financing as a milestone in its move from research and development toward commercial biomanufacturing.
Processes built with manufacturers
EnginZyme works with industrial partners from process design through scale-up in areas including personal care, food and pharmaceuticals. Its cell-free approach is intended to pair enzyme selectivity with continuous production, giving partners a way to evaluate new manufacturing routes within existing industrial settings.
