CSignum raises £2.6 million to scale cable-free infrastructure monitoring
Its EM2 communications systems carry sensor data through water, ice and ground, connecting monitoring equipment where conventional radio and cabling are difficult to use.
Getting sensor data out of hard-to-reach places
CSignum’s EM2 portfolio uses electromagnetic field signalling to link submerged or buried sensors to a gateway above the surface. For water utilities, that can provide continuous readings without running cables through riverbeds or relying on exposed surface equipment; the company says its deployments have moved from pilots into volume use with multiple utilities and international customers.
Scaling commercial deployments
The follow-on capital will accelerate deployment of the EM2 portfolio, including water-quality monitoring. The announcement also describes commercial traction in infrastructure markets and a new chief executive to lead the next phase of growth.
