CereGate closes Series C to advance Parkinson’s gait therapy

A US medical technology group leads the undisclosed financing, with Budapest-based Impact Ventures joining.

CereGate has closed an oversubscribed Series C led by a global US-based medical technology company whose name was not disclosed. Impact Ventures of Budapest joined as a new investor alongside existing backers. The company did not announce the amount raised.

The financing will support clinical development of CereGate’s software-based brain interface, initially targeting freezing of gait in Parkinson’s disease. The software runs on Boston Scientific deep-brain stimulation systems and remains in clinical investigation.

CEO Matthias Puls said the round enables the clinical work needed to advance the therapy for patients whose walking difficulties persist despite medication and standard stimulation.
