Preventing infection after root canal treatment

Dentists fill the treated root canal after removing infected tissue. Cementic is developing a material for this step to address bacteria that can persist and cause another infection, sometimes requiring repeat treatment or extraction. HEC Paris describes the technology as incorporating liposomes into endodontic cement.

Moving into dental clinics

The €4 million round was led by Blast Club and included unnamed dental professionals. The company plans initial trials with French partner clinics during 2026, followed by market entry subject to the relevant authorizations. At the announcement, clinical trials were a next step rather than an established patient outcome.

Where the funding goes

  • Trials at partner dental clinics in France
  • Development and market introduction of the dental biomaterial
