A different approach to the brain interface

The team aims to connect with neurons using molecules instead of electrodes and to transmit signals through modalities such as ultrasound. Its immediate work is research across biology, hardware and AI, rather than a commercially available implant.

Research partnerships behind the launch

The initial technical direction has roots in Forest Neurotech, which will continue working with Merge Labs. OpenAI is participating in the seed financing and will collaborate on scientific foundation models and tools for interpreting limited or noisy neural signals.
