Celaid Therapeutics raises ¥400m in Series B second close
Shionogi and Teikoku Ventures join as the company prepares CLD-001 for US clinical development.
Celaid Therapeutics announced the second close of its Series B on October 5, raising ¥400 million through new shares issued to Shionogi and Teikoku Ventures.
Moving toward a US trial
CLD-001 is a cell-therapy candidate for severe paediatric blood and immune disorders. It uses expanded stem cells from banked cord blood, aiming to address the limited cell supply available for transplantation.
Celaid says it has established the manufacturing process, transferred it to a US contract manufacturer and completed a pre-IND meeting with the FDA. These are preparatory steps toward an investigational application and clinical trial; the treatment remains in development.
