Bloom raises $3.6m seed to connect hardware companies with suppliers
SNAK Venture Partners led the financing for the Detroit marketplace as it broadens beyond mobility into robotics, drones and other hardware.
Bloom announced a $3.6 million seed round on October 7, led by SNAK Venture Partners. Flyover Capital, Mana Ventures, Detroit Venture Partners, Invest Detroit Ventures and the Michigan Outdoor Innovation Fund also participated.
The company has shifted from handling supply-chain services itself toward matching buyers and providers through a marketplace. The change broadens its reach beyond mobility companies to businesses building robots, drones and other hardware that need manufacturing, logistics and servicing partners.
Bloom says it has made more than 2,000 matches for over 140 companies. The new capital gives it room to grow that network and develop its matching tools, which combine provider information with data from requests, quotes and completed transactions.
