BioGeometry secures angel backing from Gaorong Capital
The 2022 financing backed an early effort to connect AI protein design with experimental drug-development workflows.
BioGeometry announced the completion of its angel financing from Gaorong Capital on September 21, 2022. The company did not disclose the amount.
The announcement accompanied the release of TorchProtein, a machine-learning platform for macromolecules. BioGeometry was building capabilities in antibody structure prediction, sequence design and enzyme modelling, alongside a wet-lab validation platform with research partners.
Founded by AI researcher Jian Tang, the company’s early approach linked computational molecular design with experimental feedback. Yoshua Bengio served as a scientific advisor.
