Benne raises INR35 crore to expand its dosa chain
Claypond Capital leads the pre-Series A financing for the South Indian restaurant business.
Benne has raised INR35 crore in a pre-Series A financing led by Claypond Capital, according to an August 7 report based on regulatory filings. The restaurant chain plans to use the money to expand its operations.
Claypond Capital contributed INR28.75 crore. AL Trust, Mukul Mahavir Agrawal, Madhukeshwar Desai and Cortado Advisory Services also participated.
The financing moves the company beyond the fundraising talks reported earlier in the year. Founded by Akhil Iyer and Shriya Narayan, Benne serves Bengaluru-style dosas and a focused South Indian cafe menu through its restaurants, takeaway and delivery.
