Astrocyte Pharmaceuticals raises $9.5m Series B for Phase 2 development
DeepWork Capital led the round as Astrocyte advances AST-004 and works toward completion of its STARFAST concussion trial.
Financing the next clinical stage
The $9.5 million Series B takes Astrocyte’s reported cumulative financing and grants to $40 million. The new round was led by DeepWork Capital, with MintPharma Capital, Waterstar Capital, Dynagrow Capital, Angel Star Ventures and existing investors participating.
Following two completed Phase 1 safety studies, the company will continue Phase 2 development of AST-004. The funded work includes completing STARFAST, a study of sports-related concussion in Australian Rules Football.
