Aslan Protects raises $20.8m seed for human-supervised cyber intelligence
The funding will expand engineering, data science and threat-intelligence teams supporting AI operatives for government missions.
Investigating illicit online spaces
Aslan Protects deploys AI operatives to investigate encrypted criminal forums and other illicit online spaces for national-security, intelligence and law-enforcement agencies. Natural-language processing and locally adapted behavioral models help the operatives build a persistent view of activity, while human supervisors oversee the work and its digital evidence.
Khosla Ventures and XYZ Venture Capital co-led the $20.8 million seed round. Aslan plans to grow its software, data-science and threat-intelligence teams, expand high-performance computing capacity and accelerate deployments. The company describes use cases including tracing cross-border smuggling, identifying state actors behind false identities and mapping cyber-fraud networks.
