ArcSpace raises more than €2m ahead of orbital welding demonstration
The French company is moving toward a first mission to test autonomous welding on a satellite.
From ground qualification to work in orbit
ArcSpace aims to perform more than 100 seconds of autonomous welding during its 2027 demonstration. Success would take its electron-beam technology beyond ground qualification and test a practical step toward repairing spacecraft already in orbit.
DEPO Ventures One leads a group that includes German investor SCE Freiraum Ventures and France’s IRDI. ArcSpace targets commercial entry in 2028, with institutional collaborations including CNES and the European Space Agency.
